LULA CURIOCA OLFACTORY STUDIO is a studio of olfactory art and independent perfumery founded in Mexico by Lula Curioca in 2018. Her expertise as an olfactory artist, perfumer and designer lies in her interpretation and exploration of humanistic concepts; transforming them into fragrances and sensory experiences. Lula goes beyond the limits of perfumery, design and art by celebrating the relationship between the body and it's environment, and she proposes new ways of wearing perfume.

Today, Lula is a pioneer in artisanal- independent perfumery in Mexico, and has achieved international recognition by exhibiting at the world's first olfactory art gallery, Olfactory Art Keller, in NYC.

For more than a decade, Lula has been designing long-lasting scented art objects conceived as an extension of the human identity. Since her first brand, Herminia Mor, which was born in 2011 in Barcelona, Lula has not stopped exploring the link between the textile and the olfactive. After delving into Textile and Fashion Design, her dedication to the study of smell and perfumery has been full time, collaborating with artists to create interdisciplinary sensory experiences.

Additionally, she develops bespoke olfactory identities  for brands, sensorial experiences and high-end corporate gifts.

Perfumes and objects like jewels. Like a part of yourself: a treasured moment, a memory, a daydream. Each one a precious stone. Inspired by the pleasures, the joys, and the gifts of being alive. By all the hedonists around the world. By those who experience every nuance, every drop of their emotions.

To smell is like opening a present, a surprise that takes you somewhere unknown. Ride this adventure with your sense of smell. Let your nose transport you.

From the formulation of the fragrance to the final packaging, each piece is created under a scheme that honors the detail and natural rhythm of each phase. This allows the soul of the object to take shape and transform into an experience that involves the five senses.

MANIFESTO

Smelling where others wouldn’t.

Respecting the timing of each process.

The inevitable urge to smell the person you love.

Ephemeral things that remain in the memory.

No such thing as a “bad” or “good” smell.

Smell is cultural.

The wisdom of nature.

The processes in life that call for dedication and awareness.

A perfume’s gender belongs simply to whomever wears it.

The scents of childhood.

What nourishes rather than fills.

Noses in general. I’m a big noses fan.
